ANA ( ELISA ) - Anti Nuclear Antibodies

The ANA ELISA (Antinuclear Antibody Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) test measures the level of antinuclear antibodies (ANAs) in the blood. ANAs are antibodies that target the body's own nuclear components. The test uses an enzyme-linked reaction to detect and quantify these antibodies. Elevated ANA levels can suggest autoimmune disorders such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or rheumatoid arthritis. The ANA ELISA test provides a quantitative measure of these antibodies, helping to assess the presence and extent of autoimmune activity.

The ANA ELISA (Antinuclear Antibody Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) test is a diagnostic tool used to detect and quantify antinuclear antibodies (ANAs) in the blood. ANAs are antibodies that target components within the cell nucleus, and their presence can indicate autoimmune disorders. The test employs an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to bind ANAs to a specific antigen coated on a plate. After binding, a substrate is added that produces a detectable color change, proportional to the amount of ANAs present.

A positive ANA ELISA result can suggest autoimmune conditions like systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis, or scleroderma. Unlike the ANA IFA test, which provides qualitative results, the ELISA method offers quantitative data, which helps in assessing the extent of autoimmune activity and guiding further diagnostic and treatment decisions.
