Complete Fever Panel ( Dengue Combo )

A fever is an elevation in body temperature, usually signaling an immune response to infections or other health conditions. Normal body temperature averages around 98.6°F (37°C), but a fever typically occurs when the temperature rises to 100.4°F (38°C) or higher. Fever is commonly caused by viral or bacterial infections, such as the flu or common cold, but can also result from inflammatory conditions, heat exhaustion, or adverse reactions to medications or vaccines. When the body detects harmful pathogens, it releases chemicals that reset the body’s thermostat in the brain, causing the temperature to rise and help fight off invaders. Accompanying symptoms may include chills, sweating, headache, muscle pain, and fatigue. While fevers are generally not harmful, very high or prolonged fevers—especially in young children, elderly individuals, or those with weakened immune systems—may require medical evaluation and treatment.
