Torch IgM

A TORCH IgM test is a blood test that measures the presence of IgM antibodies against a group of infectious agents: Toxoplasma gondii (T), Rubella virus (R), Cytomegalovirus (C), and Herpes simplex virus (H). The presence of IgM antibodies indicates a recent or acute infection, as IgM is the first antibody produced by the immune system in response to an infection.

This test is particularly important for pregnant women, as these infections can cause serious complications, including congenital abnormalities, miscarriage, or stillbirth, if transmitted to the fetus.
